Residents in Conversation
On Tuesday 20th January 2026, Elim residents joined us for ‘Ask Elim’, a virtual Question & Answer session held on Zoom. The session gave residents the opportunity to ask questions, share what’s working well, and highlight where improvements could be made. The session was attended by Paul, Rachel and Nick.
Although our residents were invited to talk to us about plans for the year ahead, and their experiences of our services, the discussion mainly focused on Elim’s merger with Places for People. Unfortunately, only two of the five confirmed attendees were able to join the session, but the team are in the process of separately responding to the advance queries raised by the residents who were unable to attend.
Resident feedback and key themes from the session included:
- Requests for an update on merger progress and clarification around the local offer. This conversation was a reminder that many of our customers may not fully understand where we are in the merger process and what this means for residents. We have a further Customer Consultation due to take place between May – July this year, and we will make sure all communication is as clear as possible.
- We discussed the impact of the merger on Elim colleagues and explained that all colleagues would be offered a new role in the Places for People structure. We confirmed that we had not yet finalised plans around the future of the Elim head office.
- We talked about the options for resident involvement as part of the Places for People Group – there will be far more local, regional and national opportunities for residents.
- We were asked how Elim colleagues will make sure that local knowledge (about properties and communities) is transferred to Places for People. Residents raised concern that this information could become lost.
- We were asked to invite a member of the Places for People team to the next Ask Elim event. We agreed to arrange this.
Thank you to everyone who helped deliver the session.
